Social-oriented work

Children population of Indigenous and migrant communities from Costa Rica are severely affected by helminth infections. Students and members of the lab conduct fieldwork to reach these communities and teach them about parasites, their transmission, and prevention. However, the most important aspect of this work is the coprological analysis performed on samples of each individual. This initiative has been conducted for over 10 years, leading to the promotion of social and health improvement.
